Local Voices. Local Decisions.

I’ve served our community on the West Point City Council and as Mayor. That experience shaped my belief that the best decisions are made closest to the people they affect.

Too often, state government forgets that Utah is not one community—it’s many. Clinton, West Point, Clearfield, and Sunset each have different needs, different challenges, and different priorities. My job as a state representative is not to dictate from the Capitol, but to carry local voices to it.

Protecting Local Control

Local control isn’t just a slogan—it’s how good government works. Cities understand their neighborhoods, infrastructure, and residents better than anyone at the Capitol, especially when it comes to zoning, land use, and growth planning. I will oppose one-size-fits-all mandates and stand up for the right of local communities to plan their own futures.

Listening Before Legislating

One of the biggest frustrations I hear is that government doesn’t listen before acting. I believe legislation should begin with conversations and a clear understanding of how policies affect cities, families, and local businesses. Representation means being accessible, asking questions, and carrying real local voices to the Capitol.

Responsible Government

Government should be focused, disciplined, and limited to its proper role. I support responsible budgeting, fiscal restraint, and prioritizing essential services over expanding bureaucracy. Families are already feeling financial pressure, and state government should not add to it.

Public Safety

Strong communities are safe communities. I support the law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders who serve Clinton, West Point, Clearfield, and Sunset, and I believe public safety decisions work best when they reflect local needs. State policy should support—not undermine—the people who protect our communities.

Education & Parents

Parents should be partners, not spectators, in their children’s education. I support transparency, respect for teachers and school administrators, and educational options that reflect the needs of individual families. Education policies should empower parents and educators, not impose blanket solutions from above.

Constitutional Principles

The Constitution sets limits for a reason. I believe in individual liberty, personal responsibility, religious freedom, and defending Second Amendment rights. When government respects those limits and balances power appropriately, communities are stronger and freer.
